Journey to Cafe Pixel

There's no moon in the sky tonight. Rain drips off your wide fedora and down your beige trenchcoat. You glance again at the typed note, worn from examination and wet from the rain.

Hello,
Please meet me outside the warehouse at 7 o' clock on Monday. Bring cookies.
- Kelsey

Once again, you scratch your head in confusion. What could this mysterious "Kelsey" possibly want from you (well, other than cookies)? The wind begins to blow more violently, and you pull your collar closer to your neck.

Suddenly, a tall figure comes into view, dressed much like yourself, and walking directly towards you. You can see that it is a woman. You wonder if her name is Kelsey.

"Come on," she whispers, and hurries to one of the old warehouse's unlit entrances. You follow cautiously. She unlocks the door, and you both slip inside. She then leads you down countless hallways, passages, and starways. Finally, at the end of a very long, very black hall, you reach a tall silver door. The girl pulls out a large key ring and removes a sparkling silver key that matches the door. She fits the key into the lock, and, with a loud "CLACK," the door unlocks and swings open.

The first thing you notice is the rush of brilliant light. The girl leads you forward through the doorway, into a room of swirling colors and light. Once your eyes get used to the brightness, you can begin to make out different shapes. Shelves line every wall, and baskets fill every shelf. The baskets are brightly colored and labeled according to their contents. One large blue basket is titled "Brushes." You peek inside, and see an assortment of letters, swirls, and dots.

The place smells wonderful! There are sofas, chairs, books, art supplies, soft rugs, and countless colored baskets. A large, glittering chandelier hangs in the center of the room. Soft music plays from a radio on one end of the room. A couple of people are browsing the rows of shelves.

When you finally take notice of the girl, she had taken off her hat and long coat, and was sitting in a sofa, smiling at you.

"So, do you like it?" she asks happily.

You nod and say that you like it very much. "But," you ask her, "what is this place?"

She laughs happily and answers, "I'm Kelsey, and this is Cafe Pixel! It's a cozy little refuge where you can read, listen to music, and find cool new stuff for your website and graphics! So, why don't you have a seat and stay for a little while?"
